Live Life with Flavor Challenge Day 6 – Balancing Your Functions

Welcome to Day 6 of the Live Life with Flavor Challenge, today is Majestic Me Monday’s!

Like you, I am a woman with MANY different functions to play!

First of all, I am a Woman! But I am also a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Entrepreneur, Sister, Friend, and soooo many other things!

These are all great hats to wear, and I love them all. However, sometimes when we place more of an emphasis on one of those roles, the rest seem to go out of focus…

As women with Flavor, it is important to not over credit one particular role, or else you may forget that you have other functions to play...

I remember when I was a new mother, in my mind and in my heart my primary role was being a mom. And that wasn’t a bad thing! But, there were times I forgot I was also a wife…which detracted from my relationship with Gus.

As women with Flavor, it is important to not over credit one particular role, or else you may forget that you have other functions to play. Yes, there are seasons in which one function will be more prevalent, but it is important to not discredit the other roles, because experiencing balance in our life means we have to live out each of these functions fully…

For today’s challenge, take a piece of paper, a pencil or pen, and two different colored highlighters. Draw a circle in the middle and place your name in that circle. Then create other circles around the original one, and draw a line that connects each circle to the center. In each circle write one role that you play. When you have done that, go back and use adjectives to describe each function. Finally, highlight the function(s) that you are focusing on the most in one color, and highlight in a different color the function(s) you use the least…

If you find in your life that there is one function that you are forgetting about, start applying it. Not because you have to, but because you choose to. In doing that you will develop into the best YOU!
