Live Life with Flavor Challenge Day 15 – How to Coast through Failure in Business

Today is Fabulous Business Friday and Day 15 of the Live Life with Flavor Challenge!

Every day, the headlines post another great success story about an overnight business wonder, in which someone made millions of dollars in one fell swoop. That’s great!

However, I don’t think we hear enough about the stories that took dedication, perseverance, and diligence in order achieve success!

So today, I want to talk about failure in business. I don’t mean the failure where you give up and do something else… I want to talk about the moment when the goals set look completely different than the outcome. It’s the moment when you must decide if you are going to continue with your dreams or give up to go work at the local Mart…

Last week, I had someone comment how my business just sprung up over night and how easy it was for me…

Without intending to, I laughed! Out loud!

"Gumption," as I like to call it, is the dedication and perseverance to continue no matter what life throws at you!

Please understand, it wasn’t my intention to be rude! The word “easy” just caught me off guard!

All I can tell you is that the connections I have today are the result of YEARS dedicated to building a firm foundation. That foundation is made up of gumption, as I like to call it… Which is the dedication, perseverance and diligence to continue forward no matter what life throws at you!

My business may look like it’s been easy; however, there was a season when every day was a choice to trek through the sludge of failure and disappointment.

To be honest, I have endured failures that you wouldn’t even believe!

Webinars where the sound didn’t work or the powerpoint presentation didn’t show up… Conventions where I was flown out and the coordinator forgot to put me on the schedule… And the list goes on…

Business isn’t for the weak of heart! It’s a grueling process that is hard, long in coming and so worthwhile! When I look back at my “failures” in business, I choose to see them as “successes”...

Business isn’t for the weak of heart! It’s a grueling process that is hard, long in coming and so worthwhile!

When I look back at my “failures” in business, I choose to see them as “successes”! Each has been an education in humility, giving me a greater ability to laugh and enjoy the process regardless of the outcome!

So, why did I continue forward even in my lowest seasons?

For the joy of knowing, one day, I would see you grow into the complete beautiful woman of purpose, passion and contribution that you are! To be there for you when challenge rears it’s ugly head! And to help you keep your focus on your goals, no matter the circumstances!

Question: How can you start to see your “failures” as “successes”? And what do you think you need more of, in order to see your dreams come to fruition?
